A rim is the round metal ring in which the tire rides. Also known as wheels, custom rims are offered in variety of styles, materials, designs, sixes and finishes. Magnesium rims were the most famous in 1960’s. But at present, rims are mostly made of steel, cast aluminum or billet aluminum. Available as bare, painted, clearcoated, polished or chromed, rims are often installed to the vehicle by most people to give it a different look. Another purpose of mounting a new rim is because they can run a larger-than-original wheel and tire package which doesn't only make the vehicle appear sportier and muscular but also improve its handling.
