Since 1985, Ford Taurus received the attention of the American public due to
its comfortable ride, good price and reliability. These characteristics remained
in every edition of Taurus in each model year. Ford Taurus front-wheel drive
group of vehicles is motorized by two engines. The base edition is a 3.0-liter
V6 that displaces 155 horsepower at 4900 rpm and 185 lb-ft of torque at 3900 rpm.
The next engine is the more powerful 3.0-liter, dual overhead cam V6 putting out
201 horsepower at 207 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. This engine provides Ford Taurus
more capacity to bite off the blocks and also gives better passing ability.

Shiftings are made smoother and the fuel economy become more efficient due to
its enhanced torque converter and fast-acting hydraulics. It also has a power-adjustable
accelerator and brake pedals which allows the driver to acquire a comfortable
space away from the steering wheel. No other midsize sedan has moved their power
button onto the dash by the main instrument panel for it to be reached easier,
but Ford does for Taurus.
When it comes to safety, Taurus is a winner, with its five-star rating for front-seat
driver and passenger safety rating. Its dual-stage front airbags set up quickly
but with less force in lesser fontal impact. Taurus? safety package also includes
crash-severity sensor, driver's seat position sensor and seatbelt usage sensors.
It also has side impact air bags. Those factors are contributor to the stars given
by the National Traffic Safety Administration testing. Taurus has a personal safety
system that includes restraints control module, safety belt pretensioners, driver's
seat position sensor, dual-stage front airbags, front safety belt usage sensors,
energy management retractors and front crash test severity sensors.
