1999 Ford Taurus

Taurus’ current model comes with an oval theme, inside and out. So, most people
will either like the style or they don’t. For this year, all Taurus models are
offered with four-speed automatic transmissions. Since shift quality was a continual
problem for Taurus, Ford recalibrated the computer controls, altered the torque
converter, and utilized a different final-drive ratio which results to smoother,
more excellent shifting. ’99 Ford Taurus is motorized by a more powerful Duratec
engine which is available with a higher stall-speed torque converter to make it
rev more swiftly up to its most capable working range. It is combined with a higher
axle ratio that puts out quicker off-the-line acceleration.

Taurus’ front suspension is styled with a lower control arm stabilizer bar which
is simple yet efficient. Its rear suspension is accurately positioned to maximize
handling and reaction. Suspension package comes with coil springs, shocks and
a stabilizer bar. Its power steering is standard but Taurus has added speed-sensitive
variable assist, which means there is more power assist at low speeds to make
the turning easier. At increased speed, it provides less assist for better road
feel. Disc brakes can be found in front while at the rear, there are drum brakes.
