1997 Ford Taurus
1997 Ford Taurus has a seamless design wherein everything is incorporated. It
has an ovoid theme that is repeated inside. The vehicle’s hood runs flawlessly
into the windshield and the rear windows flows into the deck, giving a seamless
appearance. The vehicle's nose is noticeably low, and the small grille opening
is undoubtedly a remarkable feature.
For a stable and unified look, the wheels have been pushed out to the corners.
Its round corners and softened shapes makes it appear smaller than the previous
models despite of its being 5.4 inches longer and two inches wider. Taurus is
originally offered in two trims: the GL and LX but immediately added G edition.
The engine that goes with the G and GL versions is a 3.0-liter overhead valve
V6, generating 145 horsepower. The LX edition is powered by a double-overhead-cam,
32-valve, 3.0-liter V6 that produces 200 horsepower.
All the engines are coupled a four-speed automatic. In the inside, the oval theme
can be observed on the instrument panel, vents, door handle recesses and somewhere
else. There is also a large oval in the center of the dash which housed the climate
and sound system controls. The buttons and the switches flow from lower left to
upper right within the oval, but its arrangement is somewhat logical and it makes
it easy for the driver to make adjustments by just a mere touch. Pushbuttons and
switches have high-quality and high-tech feel.
