1993 Ford Taurus SHO

For the 1993 model year, Ford Taurus performance sedan comes with an automatic
transmission for the first time. Since its introduction way back 1989, the vehicle’s
one and only transmission is 4-speed accompanying the 5-speed manual. Engineers
did slight modifications to the engine and for this year, Taurus SHO now comes
with a 3.2-liter, 220 horsepower translation of the 3-liter, 220 horsepower 24
valve V-6 that has been the sole source of power and is offered only with 5-speed
before 1993.

The 3-liter with 5-speed continuously become the standard engine while the 3.2-liter
with automatic was made as an option. The 1993 Taurus SHO also features MacPherson
struts with coil springs, nitrogen gas pressurized shocks, stabilizer bars, speed-sensitive
variable assist power steering, a thick, comfortable steering wheel, and a 16-inch
steel-belted radials which make the most of your grip of the road while limiting
sway, lean, bumping or bouncing as well. It is a refined suspension that doesn’t
come too firm or too unkind for the daily travelers. Taurus SHO also has a standard
automatic transmission and braking system, driver-side air bag and an optional
passenger-side air cushion. It’s a performance and safety package rolled into
one.
